Have You Ever Had Someone Tell You That Chiropractors Will Break Your Neck?

Tuesday, January 31st, 2017

The authors of this paper were focused on what kind of changes, if any, are present within the vertebral arteries of the neck when a cervical adjustment is performed by a chiropractor or when placed in various positions.

How They Did It

  • This paper was done as a blinded examiner cohort study involving four randomized clinical tasks.
  • 10 males (24-30 yrs old) were the test subjects.
  • None of the test subjects had significant negative health history within the last six months.
  • Measurements were taken at the C1 and C2 spinal level in the normal, neutral position.
  • The subjects were placed in 3 different positions and each had chiropractic upper cervical adjustments.
  • MRI technology was used to collect accurate information in the different positions, as well as during the chiropractic spinal manipulation.
  • Differences in the flow and velocity of the vertebral arteries were performed via repeated measures analysis of variance.

What They Found

There were no significant differences, when compared from side to side, for flow or velocity.

Wrap It Up

“There were no significant changes in blood flow or velocity in the vertebral arteries of healthy young male adults after various head positions and cervical spine manipulations.”

Just another reason to call a chiropractor TODAY!

Research and clinical experience shows that, in about 80%-90% of headaches, neck, and back pain, in comparison to the traditional medical model, patients get good or excellent results with Chiropractic. Chiropractic care is safe, more cost-effective, it decreases your chances of having surgery, and it reduces your chances of becoming disabled. We do this conservatively and non-surgically. In addition, we can do it with minimal time requirements and minimal hassle on the part of the patient. And, if the patient develops a “preventative” mindset going forward from initial recovery, we can likely keep it that way while raising the general, overall level of health! Please feel free to leave a comment and tell me your thoughts. I’d love to hear what you think.And….SHARE, SHARE, SHARE!! We cannot make a difference without your help.

Till next time……
