Research: How Are Muscles Affected By Chiropractic?

Sunday, January 4th, 2015
Whether we are the doctor or patient, we tend to think we know what happens when one visits the chiropractor. It’s just explained differently by different chiropractors. We hear all about the bones but what about the muscles?

This research shines some light on that aspect of the adjustment.

Why They Did It

to find out what the reflex responses were following spinal manipulation.

How They Did It

  • 10 males without any symptoms
  • 11 spinal manipulations in the neck, mid-back, low back, and sacroiliac areas.
  • Muscle reflex was measured using 16 pairs of surface electrodes

What Did They Find?

Each treatment consistently showed reflex responses in the target area.

Wrap Up

The study showed consistent reflex response following the spinal manipulations. This shows that besides the already proven benefits in neuromusculoskeletal conditions, spinal manipulation potentially also causes other benefits that chiropractors see in their offices every day like less pain and less hypertonic muscles in patients.

Just another reason to call a chiropractor TODAY

Research and clinical experience shows that, in about 80%-90% of headaches, neck, and back pain, in comparison to the traditional medical model, patients get good or excellent results with Chiropractic. Chiropractic care is safe, more cost-effective, it decreases your chances of having surgery, and it reduces your chances of becoming disabled.  We do this conservatively and non-surgically. In addition, we can do it with minimal time requirements and minimal hassle on the part of the patient. And, if the patient develops a “preventative” mindset going forward from initial recovery, we can likely keep it that way while raising your general, overall level of health!

We have seen time and time again the amazing effectiveness of chiropractic for issues such as neck out of alignment, hips out of alignment, back alignment, lower back alignment hip out of alignment, back out of alignment, etc… We have just about seen it all.

Please feel free to leave a comment and tell me your thoughts. I’d love to hear what you think.

And….SHARE, SHARE, SHARE!!   We cannot make a difference without your help.

Till next time……
