Research: No Matter How Long You’ve Had That Low Back Pain, Chiropractic Proves It Can Help

Wednesday, November 11th, 2015

We have known for some time that lumber complaints are greatly affected by spinal manipulation. Even the medical research gurus that like to try to give chiropractors a hard time don’t argue the results.

This paper had to do with evaluating effectiveness of spinal manipulation in low back disc complaints for both chronic (long-lasting) AND acute (new, sharp) conditions.

Why They Did It

Since it has already been abundantly proven that spinal manipulation is significantly effective for low back pain and leg pain, the authors then wanted to know if there was any difference in how spinal manipulation affected low back pain in a chronic vs. an acute condition.

How They Did It

  • 148 Patients aged 18-65.
  • All patients must have low back pain.
  • All patients must have leg pain.
  • All patients must have physical examination abnormalities due to disc herniations.
  • They used widely accepted Outcome Assessment Questionnaires
  • They used the Numerical Rating Scale for self-reporting pain.
  • They were evaluated using these tools at 2 weeks, 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, and 1 year points.

What They Found

  • “Significant improvement for all outcomes at all time points was reported.”
  • Acute patients improved faster.
  • Chronic patients, however, reported improvement to the tune of 89.2% after a full year!

Wrap Up

A large percentage of both acute and chronic patients undergoing chiropractic treatment reported clinically important and significant improvement at ALL points during treatment and up to a full year following treatment.

Just another reason to call a chiropractor TODAY

Research and clinical experience shows that, in about 80%-90% of headaches, neck, and back pain, in comparison to the traditional medical model, patients get good or excellent results with Chiropractic. Chiropractic care is safe, more cost-effective, it decreases your chances of having surgery, and it reduces your chances of becoming disabled. We do this conservatively and non-surgically. In addition, we can do it with minimal time requirements and minimal hassle on the part of the patient. And, if the patient develops a “preventative” mindset going forward from initial recovery, we can likely keep it that way while raising your general, overall level of health!

We have seen time and time again the amazing effectiveness of chiropractic for issues such as neck out of alignment, hips out of alignment, back alignment, lower back alignment hip out of alignment, back out of alignment, etc… We have just about seen it all.

Please feel free to leave a comment and tell me your thoughts. I’d love to hear what you think.

And….SHARE, SHARE, SHARE!! We cannot make a difference without your help.

Till next time……
