Why Have 40 Million Americans Tried Chiropractic? Part 8 – Patient Satisfaction

Thursday, August 13th, 2015

This is the conclusion of this series called “Why Have 40 Million Americans Tried Chiropractic?” I really hope you found it useful and worthy of your time. Again, this series is based on information provided to me personally by Mr. George McAndrews. Mr. McAndrews was the lead counsel in the Wilk vs. AMA case and won that case with his considerable skill but also these great resources that I will continue sharing with you throughout this series. These blog topics and research findings are all part of a wonderful article in Dynamic Chiropractic that Mr. McAndrews wrote. You can read that article at this link. The final installment of this series has to do with Patient Satisfaction. Yes, that is something that can be measured and researched. It has been researched thoroughly as a matter of fact. Here are three of them that Mr. McAndrews chose to highlight.

2002 – Study comparing chiropractic care and medical care for low back pain
A group of researchers at UCLA compared patient satisfaction for adults with low back pain who received either chiropractic are or medical care. They found that patients were much more satisfied with care from a chiropractor, and felt that they received more information about their treatment from them.

2005 – Study comparing chiropractic care and medical care for low back pain
A study examined 2,872 patients who received care for low back pain at 65 different clinics with a total of 60 chiropractors and 111 medical physicians in Canada and the US over a 2-year period.
Patients treated by a chiropractor were much more likely to be satisfied with their care (89%) than those treated by a medical physician (74%), and also had better clinical outcomes.

2011 – Study on hospital-based care by chiropractors for low back pain
A study examined 402 patients treated by chiropractors according to a standardized pathway using a limited number of visits that was developed as part of a hospital-based health care system.
Researchers found that over 95% of patients described their satisfaction with chiropractic care as excellent, and also found good clinical outcomes and low total health care costs with this approach.

Just another reason to call a chiropractor TODAY

Research and clinical experience shows that, in about 80%-90% of headaches, neck, and back pain, in comparison to the traditional medical model, patients get good or excellent results with Chiropractic. Chiropractic care is safe, more cost-effective, it decreases your chances of having surgery, and it reduces your chances of becoming disabled.  We do this conservatively and non-surgically. In addition, we can do it with minimal time requirements and minimal hassle on the part of the patient. And, if the patient develops a “preventative” mindset going forward from initial recovery, we can likely keep it that way while raising your general, overall level of health!

We have seen time and time again the amazing effectiveness of chiropractic for issues such as neck out of alignment, hips out of alignment, back alignment, lower back alignment hip out of alignment, back out of alignment, etc…

Please feel free to leave a comment and tell me your thoughts. I’d love to hear what you think.

And….SHARE, SHARE, SHARE!!   We cannot make a difference without your help.

Till next time……
