Trying Chiropractic

Since this blog series is basically relayed from information obtained from his resources, I think I have to start out by introducing you to Mr. George McAndrews.

Mr. McAndrews is a legend to chiropractors across America because he fought, AND WON, the Wilk v. American Medical Association case. He was the lead counsel for Wilk et. al. and he ensured that the AMA would have to cease and desist their tactics and campaign against chiropractors and the chiropractic profession. I could get into it deeper but trust me, it was ugly what the medical doctors and their associations on the state and national level were doing to chiropractors.

He basically proved that the AMA was guilty of conspiring to destroy the chiropractic profession. He’s kind of a big deal to chiropractors you might say. If you wish, you can read more about Mr. McAndrews here: http://www.mcandrews-ip.com/our-team/george-mcandrews.html

He personally provided me with a ton of information so I’m going to start breaking it down into bite-sized pieces to make it easier to digest and to make it less overwhelming. I think the impact of the information in this sort of format carries a little more weight. This should keep us good and busy for several weeks.

When I say there is a mountain of solid research and evidence for chiropractic, I’m not kidding. It’s amazing that anyone comes into my office and says, “I believe in chiropractic.” It happens all of the time. We’re not a church, folks. Part of the reason for this weekly blog is to show you that Chiropractic does not require your faith. It’s like saying, “I believe in that bypass surgery.” It’s effective and it’s been proven effective time and time again.

This first section that Mr. McAndrews sent to me is called

Why Have Over 40 Million Americans Tried Chiropractic?: They Have Musculoskeletal Conditions Like Back Pain And Neck Pain.

  • 1998 – Study on how common back pain and neck pain are in the general population

About half of the population suffers from back pain or neck pain in any given month, and up to 84% of adults will experience back pain or neck pain at some point in their life, making them the most common reason for work injuries, lost work time, disability, limited physical function, and early retirement.

  • 2002 – Study on the reasons why patients seek chiropractic care

A study interviewed 1,275 patients in 131 different clinics in Canada and the United States and asked them why they went to see a chiropractor. Back pain was the most common reason (41%), followed by neck pain (24%), headache (4%), disc problems (3%), and scoliosis (2%).

  • 2008 – Study on chiropractic use at a Veterans Affair Medical Clinic

A study of 354 patients who received chiropractic care found that 72% had a complaint related to low back pain, while 22% had neck pain, and 3% had mid-back pain.

Just another reason to call a chiropractor TODAY

Research and clinical experience shows that, in about 80%-90% of headaches, neck, and back pain, in comparison to the traditional medical model, patients get good or excellent results with Chiropractic. Chiropractic care is safe, more cost-effective, it decreases your chances of having surgery, and it reduces your chances of becoming disabled. We do this conservatively and non-surgically. In addition, we can do it with minimal time requirements and minimal hassle on the part of the patient. And, if the patient develops a “preventative” mindset going forward from initial recovery, we can likely keep it that way while raising your general, overall level of health!

Please feel free to leave a comment and tell me your thoughts. I’d love to hear what you think.

And….SHARE, SHARE, SHARE!! We cannot make a difference without your help.

Till next time……
